Government forces on Wednesday evening launched cordon and search operation at Yaroo village of Langate in Handwara following inputs about the presence of militants.
A police official said lights were installed in the area andsearches and search operation was going on.
The official said reinforcement has been rushed to thevillage to tighten the cordon. “So far no contact has been establishedwith the militants,” the official said.
He said a joint team of Army’s 30 RR, J&K Police’s SOGand CRPF were jointly conducting the searches.
The searches were going on in the area when this report wasfiled.
