Sopore, June 19: A Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in several areas of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on early Saturday morning.
Reports said that columns of security forces including 22 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG of J&K Police and CRPF laid a siege in the localities including Batpora, Sangrampora, Khushal Matoo, Muslimpeer, Baba Yousuf, Shalpora and other adjacent areas where they started house to house searches.
A top police official while confirming the development told Greater Kashmir that the searches were launched following a tip off about the presence of militants in these areas.
As per locals, the roads leading towards these areas were also sealed by the forces.
