Police have arrested a man who tried to flee after being asked to stop at a check-point in Chadoora town of central Kashmir's Budgam district late Sunday evening.
The man (name withheld), a resident of Pulwama, is being questioned, said a top police official.
He said that the man was arrested from Qaiser Mullah village of Chadoora by Budgam police, Army's 53 RR and 178 Bn of CRPF in a joint operation.
The operation was launched after specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, added the official.
"During the operation, a suspicious person carrying a bag tried to run away from the security men, who was latter apprehended from nearby orchards," he added.
Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam, Fayaz Ahmad Lone confirmed the arrest.
"The person is being questioned," Lone told Greater Kashmir.
