Chairman J&K Bank, ex-legislators, Prof Siddiqi call on Advisor Sharma

Chairman J&K Bank Parvez Ahmed today called on Advisor to the Governor K K Sharma and discussed several issues related to financial sector of the State.

While interacting with the Chairman, the Advisor maintainedthat J&K Bank has played a vital role in the economic development of theState. The role of the bank has been phenomenal in addressing the unemploymentissue as it has provided jobs to thousands of youth of the State, he said.

   

During the meeting, the Chairman J&K bank raised variousissues to which the Advisor said all the issues will be looked into.

Meanwhile, former legislators Yawar Dilawar Mir and MohammadAshraf Mir also called on the Advisor and apprised him with the various issuesconfronting their respective assembly constituencies. The Advisor said thattheir issues will be looked into.

Later, various public deputations from different areas ofthe Valley also called on the Advisor who apprised him with their grievances.

Prof Mushtaq Siddiqi, Vice-Chancellor, Islamic University ofScience and Technology (IUST) Professor Mushtaq Siddiqi called on Advisor tothe Governor K K Sharma here.

While interacting with the Advisor, the V-C raised severalissues related to the further development of the university especially theprovision of harnessing the solar and wind energy on the land of the Universityand also the catchment areas. He sought intervention of the government forensuring that the project gets completed and provides solar energy to theuniversity. The project would also result in the generation of revenue, whichcould be then used for other activities of the institution, he added.

The Advisor while interacting with the V-C maintained thatthe suggestions and the proposals submitted would be looked into. He said thatseveral initiatives stand already taken in harnessing the solar power energy inthe state and measures to explore the wind energy are also being explored.
