Chairperson W&CRC visits Children Hospital, directs proper facilities for patients

Chairperson Women and Child Rights Commission (W&CRC) Vasundhra Phatak Masoodi Friday inspected GB Pant Children here, directing the authorities to maintain proper ventilation and provide proper facilities to patients.

“It was disappointing to see two children sharing one bed.The general ward of the hospital is suffocating and the hospital is in dire ofventilation,” said Masoodi, the newly appointed chairperson of the Commission.

   

She said the building of the hospital was “faulty” and”congested”. “There is a dearth of manpower in the hospital. In fact, it was broughtto my notice, that some departments, which were newly created, were closedbecause of shortage of manpower,” she said.

This was Masoodi’s second visit to city hospitals. On Fridayshe visited maternity Lal Ded hospital. The chairperson however said thehygiene and sanitation at the children hospital was better than Lal Dedhospital.

Vasundhra said the issue with regard to infrastructureincluding availability of beds, air-conditioning and manpower shortage will betaken up with the authorities concerned to bring more efficiency in functioningof the hospital.

During the visit, the Chairperson also took round of wardsand sections of the hospital. She interacted with hospital authorities,patients and their attendants and enquired about medicare and other relatedfacilities being provided to patients and new born babies.

She directed the concerned for focused attention onmaintaining sanitation and cleanliness, besides provision of proper medicarefacilities to the inward patients.

During her visit to Lal Ded hospital the chairperson hadasked its administration to ensure safety of children and mother.
