Chinar International organizes media interaction session

Chinar International, a Kashmir based non-government organisation, today organised a press briefing focused on its programs and interventions.

The event was organised at Press Club Srinagar which was attended by journalists from both print and electronic media.

The event was aimed at highlighting the role of media in identifying the social problems and working collaboratively towards the welfare of children and youth in Kashmir. Chinar Executive Director Irfan Shahmiri along with two directors led the interaction session with media.

“We are providing critical support to children belonging from most vulnerable communities by providing them the basic necessary education, school fees, stationery, clothes, nutrition and basic health care,” said Irfan.

“In order to sustain support from Chinar, the child has to maintain at least 70% attendance in both school and tuition centre,” he added.

The event started with the welcome address followed by detailed presentation on various child and youth development programs run by the organisation.

Short documentaries on success stories were also presented at the event.

The event concluded with Q&A session where media asked relevant questions regarding the organisation, its programs and what impact it has on ground.
