Srinagar / Jammu, Nov 12: As part of the pan-India legal awareness and outreach campaign, Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) organised a “pictorial exhibition” at Srinagar and Jammu displaying the Legal Aid System and activities of Legal Services Institutions across J&K.

An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that the Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Patron-in-Chief of JKLSA, PankajMithal inaugurated the exhibition at Kala Kendra, Jammu.

A similar exhibition was inaugurated at Old Legislative Complex, Srinagar by Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Executive Chairman JKLSA, Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey.

The judges of the High Court were also present on the occasion at Srinagar as well as Jammu.

The objective of this pictorial exhibition was to make the general public, especially the students aware of the functioning of legal services institutions.

Besides, various legal service activities being taken up by the legal service institutions and historical perspective of legal services institutions were displayed at the exhibition.

On the occasion, Justice Magrey said that such exhibitions were a powerful tool of awareness and a platform to make people understand the legal services who had little or no knowledge of these vital services and their institutions.

Advocate General J&K, D C Raina, President J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu M K Bharadwaj, Secretary, Department of Law and Justice AchalSethi visited the photo gallery during the day.

Member Secretary JKLSA, M K Sharma appreciated the cooperation extended by the Department of Information, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, and Department of Archives in organising the event.
