Clash in entrance dates at SKUAST, AIIMS leaves students in dilemma

Parents of students, who have applied for under graduate courses at SK-University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST), have appealed to the varsity authorities to change the dates for entrance tests.

“Our wards have also applied for under graduate course atAIIMS, New Delhi. But the entrance dates at both the institutes are clashing.We appeal the authorities at Agriculture University to reschedule the entrancedates,” said a parent. Another parent said the AIIMS had issued notice forexams for different courses in December 2018. The entrance is slated for May26, he said.

   

“Hundreds of students from Kashmir have applied for thecourses at AIIMS. At the same time the Agricultural University has scheduledthe entrance test on May 26,” the parent said.

He said the clash in entrance dates has put students to”tremendous stress”. “They studied all these months to sit in both the testsbut now they are being forced to chose between the two,” the parent said, appealingthe SKUAST authorities to change the date of entrance.

Some parents have also written to the Governor’s Grievancecell seeking intervention of Raj Bhavan.
