Clashes broke out between the protesters and the government forces near the site of a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
Witnesses said that the youth took to streets and hurled stones and snowballs at the forces to disrupt the operation in Kellam area of the district.
They said that the forces fired tear gas and pellets to disperse the protesters.
Three militants are believed to be trapped in a house in Kellam area. The exchange of fire and the clashes were on when this report was being filed.
