Clashes erupt in Samboora Pulwama after forces launch search operation

Clashes broke out after the government forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Sambora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

Reports said that people took to streets and staged protests after the forces launched the search operation.

They said that the protesters pelted the forces with stones to disrupt the operation.

The forces, they said, fired tear gas to break up the protests.

An official said that the operation was launched after “specific” inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Further details are awaited.
