Clerks have no right to continue strike: Civil society groups

Several civil society groups have questioned the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Clerical Association for continuing the strike after getting twenty percent hike in the recent implementation of 7th pay commission recommendations by the government.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari has invited office bearers of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Clerical Association for a meeting on May 6 to be attended by Chief Secretary and members of the committee constituted to look into the demands of agitating clerks including the pay anomaly.

President Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Clerical association, Ali Muhammad Mir while welcoming the finance minister’s invitation for talks said, “The main issue on the Agenda would be 2010 pay anomaly and we will surely resume duties only if government issues the formal order to accept the demand on pay anomaly.” (KNS)
