Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed Friday inaugurated the 26th Police-Public Welfare Mela at Bakhshi Stadium here.
After inaugurating the Mela, Mufti Sayeed paid floral tributes to the slain cops who laid down their lives while discharging their professional duties.
The Chief Minister also went around a few of the colourful stalls and appreciated the quality of products on display from all the three regions of the state.

As many as 35 stalls have been set up by Police Establishment Centres in the Mela, which has been organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association (JKPWWA). Besides the stalls, a game zone for entertainment of children has also been set up in the Mela.
The main attraction though remains the raffle draw in which prizes from luxury cars to laptops, washing machines and LCDs will be presented to the lucky winners.
