Describing Congress party as an instrument of service to the people, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief, G A Mir urged party cadres to remain steadfast in serving the people.
"Congress party has always worked for strengthening people and resolution of problems faced by people in any part of the State," PCC chief said while addressing one day party convention in Teetwal block today.
He said Congress has never indulged in discrimination and has defeated those who are discriminating people merely on political lines.
Hitting out coalition government for failing to addresses basic issues faced by the State, the PCC chief said that PDP-BJP alliance is discriminating against people on political lines to save their sinking boat.
"Congress would continue to fight against anti-people policies of coalition government," he said.
He also expressing concern over the rising unemployment and said that there was a need for immediate remedial measures to curb the problem.
MLA and vice president PCC, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, general secretaries Shoiab Nabi Lone and Surinder Singh Channi, district president Farooq Mir, Fayaz Ahmad Malik and others also spoke on the occasion.
