Communalist forces given free hand: Jama’at-e-Islami

Jama'at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu Kashmir today accused the government of what it termed as "following agenda of communalist forces to dilute the Muslim majority character and disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir." "The communalist forces holding the reigns in Delhi as well as Jammu and Kashmir are given free hand by ruling party following their agenda of diluting the Muslim majority character and disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir for which they are utilising both Supreme Court as well as the state machinery," the Jama'at spokesman advocate Zahid Ali, in a statement today, said.

The spokesman strongly denounced what he said, 'these ill-designed moves' and impressed upon "the legal luminaries and intellectuals of the valley to formulate an effective action plan to defeat this sinister plan and inform the world that India accepted the disputed nature of J and K in 1947 itself when Indian constitution was yet to be framed and promised to provide the right of self determination to the people of J and K."
