In a statement, the JKPCC President GA Mir slammed theadministration for not evacuating the students and labourers stranded in otherstates, describing the attitude of the government as very fortunate.

Mir expresseddisappointment over the difficulties confronting stranded people, saying theadministration must focus on this humanitarian issue and take effectivemeasures to bring stranded people back to their homes.

“The UP, Gujrat and Bihargovernments have ensured return of their people to their homes within no time. Why can’t the J&K administration act in the same way,” Mir said, reiterating  that apart from addressingother  issues, the administration mustevacuate the stranded people on war footing basis.

“I urge upon the Lt.Governor GC Murmur to have the matter sorted out by attaching importance tothis humanitarian issue in order to ensure the students and laboures reachtheir homes,” Mir said.
