The state Congress team headed by JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir attended the All Party Meeting convened by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to discuss the prevailing situation in Kashmir in which thorough discussions were held over the current situation in Kashmir valley during the past few days, a Congress spokesman said.
He said the JKPCC Chief after conclusion of the meeting stated that apart from discussing the prevailing grim situation, the meeting also held broader discussions on the issue of forward movement towards addressing the Kashmir Problem. The JKPCC chief asked the government to call the special assembly session to discuss the prevailing situation.
"In this direction he stated that initiatives of UPA under Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh came under discussion, thereby, different working groups were constituted, who have submitted their recommendation on various aspects of the problem including recommendations of Justice Sagheer Committee," the spokesman said.
"The meeting felt that in furtherance of these initiatives the recommendations of the working group need to be examined thoroughly to explore the possibility of way forward towards addressing Kashmir issue," the spokesman said.
The JKPCC team comprised of CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora, Sr. Vice President Shamlal Sharma, MLC & Vice President Gulam Nabi Monga.
