Congress condemns innocent killings

The Congress today expressed serious concern over the killing of Kaisar Hamid Sofi a young boy of Iddgah, presently residing at Shalimar, who lost his life due to alleged torture by forces, and Saahil Ahmad Wagay, who was crushed to death, at Pehroo Anatnag (Islamabad), when some youth indulged in heavy stone pelting resulting into the killing of a young boy, a Congress spokesman said.

The Congress today expressed serious concern over the killing of Kaisar Hamid Sofi a young boy of Iddgah, presently residing at Shalimar, who lost his life due to alleged torture by forces, and Saahil Ahmad Wagay, who was crushed to death, at Pehroo Anatnag (Islamabad), when some youth indulged in heavy stone pelting resulting into the killing of a young boy, a Congress spokesman said.

He demanded judicial probe in both the killings and urged the government to ensure stern punishment to those involved in these unfortunate incident of deaths. He said the unabated killings are the root cause of anger among the youth in Kashmir, which is a matter of grave concern. 

Government must take effective measures to stop the loss of precious lives and injuries to common innocent people, he said.

Spokesperson said that government has miserably failed to restore calm, as a result, the situation is still of control in Kashmir.
