Controller of legal metrology department J&K R K Katoch reviewed working of LMD Kashmir here.
According to a statement, Joint Controller Kashmir apprised him about various measures taken by the department towards consumer protection including the penalties imposed on defaulting traders.
He informed that a sum total of Rs. 3743391 has been realized on account of stamping/ verification fee while as Rs. 2849700 has been realized as compounding fee in 2639 cases compounded across Kashmir Province during the current financial year so far.
Last year, the Department had realized Rs. 2245681 on account of stamping fee and Rs.1630400 on account of compounding fee in 1997 cases compounding during the first three quarters of the financial year. Controller appreciated the marked improvement in performance of the Department this year.
