Cop under quarantine tests positive for Covid-19 in Bandipora

A cop has testedpositive for COVID-19 in north Kashmir’s Bandipora, taking the total number ofinfected persons to 84 in this north Kashmir district.

An official saidthe cop was already in administrative quarantine. He said they have traced fewpersons who had come in contact with him.

   

He said theinfected cop hails from Gund-Qaiser village of district and was posted atDistrict Police Lines Bandipora (DPL).

“He is a relativeof the persons who had earlier tested positive for the disease in Gund-Qaiservillage,” added the official.

When contacted, theDeputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shabaz Mirza confirmed that the cop has testedpositive. 

“The cop has beenshifted to 70-bed hospital Sonarwani Bandipora and has been placed in theisolation ward there,” Mirza added.

With four new casesdetected yesterday evening, the number of positive cases of COVID-19 hasreached 84 in the district alone. One persons has died due to the Coronavirushere.
