Court of principal sessions judge Srinagar Friday directed Srinagar Central Jail authorities to permit and facilitate visit of a group of lawyers to jail to inquire about well being of jail inmates.
The development came after advocate NA Ronga filed anapplication, praying for directions to jail authorities to allow him to meetthe jail inmates.
In his application, advocate Ronga submitted before courtthat reports coming about the occurrence of incidents at the jail aredisturbing.
The court granted him permission with directions to jailauthorities to permit him and facilitate his visit along with other lawyers.
“We went to jail but could not meet jail inmates as it waslate. The jail authorities assured us that every jail inmates is fine. As it isholiday on Saturday and day after Sunday now we will visit the jail on Monday.Thereafter, we will submit report before the court,” advocate Ronga toldGreater Kashmir.
