A local court here Monday asked the police to file response against the application moved by one Zahoor Ahmad Mir against reduction in his security.
Mir's father Ali Muhammad was allegedly abducted and killed by infamous government-sponsored gunman Papa Kishtwari in 1996.
Court of 4th additional district sessions judge issued the directions after hearing Mir through his counsel Advocate Syed Babar Qadri.
Advocate Babar Qadri pleaded that reducing the security has put the life of his client at high risk.
"One of the accused is still absconding while arms and ammunitions have not been fully recovered. My client's life is at risk as the absconding accused can do harm to him," he pleaded before the court.
He further pleaded that reducing or withdrawal of the security of Mir directly amounts to risking his life.
The Court after hearing the arguments directed prosecution to file the response to the application on June 21.
The Court of Principal Sessions Judge Srinagar in 2011 had directed government to provide sufficient security to Zahoor Ahmed Mir as he apprehends serious threat to his life and his family.
