Srinagar, Nov 20: Two persons died of COVID-19 while 187 tested positive for viral infection across Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours.

In November, 27 people have lost their lives to COVID-19.

On Saturday, two fresh deaths were attributed to the virus, both the deceased belonging to the Kashmir division.

One of the victims was from Srinagar and the other from the Baramulla district.

The two fatalities took the death toll in the pandemic in J&K to 4459.

Currently, 1697 people are active positive in J&K, 595 of these in Srinagar, and 341 in Baramulla.

The two districts together have 64 percent of the active COVID-19 cases in the Kashmir division, a reflection of the more widespread infection compared to other districts.

As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, all districts of J&K, except Srinagar, have a positive percentage of less than 1 percent.

The ministry data about the week between 12 and 18 November said that the positive percentage of Srinagar district is 1.06 while Anantnag, Kupwara, and Bandipora have a positive percentage higher than 0.5 percent.
