As a precautionary measures in the wake of Coronavirus threat, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) conducted a fumigation drive at main campus of University of Kashmir here on Sunday.
A statement said on the request of the varsity’s Registrar,Nisar A Mir, Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali deputed a special sanitation teamwhich conducted sanitation, fumigation at several places in and around thecampus.
The team was provided with special equipment to protectthemselves from infection while carrying out the sanitation job.
During the drive awareness was given to the University staffabout how to protect themselves from the novel Coronavirus.
“Garbage collection points and dustbins were also sterilizedand sanitized,” said the statement.
The Registrar expressedgratitude to the SMC Commissioner and his team for carrying out fumigationdrive at the campus and spreading awareness about personal hygiene amongst theUniversity staff and faculty.
