The health authorities here have intensified the testing of COVID19 suspects after a rise in the corona cases in the district.
Three villages including Guzhama, Waskura and Gutlibagh havebeen already been declared as red zones after COVID19 positive cases weredetected from these areas.
Nodal officer in charge COVID19, Showket Hussain Rather said499 samples of COVID19 suspects were been taken for the testing of whichreports in 436 cases have been received.
“14persons have tested positive, while as the final reports for 422 samples havecome negative,” the official said.
He said the final reports in 63 cases were awaited.
There are five administrative quarantine centres inGanderbal, besides three hospital quarantine centre and a COVID19 hospital.
At least 146 persons arein administrative and hospital quarantine, while 312 persons are in homequarantine.
“So far 49 persons have been discharged and sent homeafter completing quarantine period. Officials are carrying door-to-door surveysin red zone for contact tracing and sampling of suspects,” the officialsaid.
DC Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal said the administration hasintensified its measures to contain spread of the COVID19 and aggressivetracing and testing was part of the plan in this regard.
