Crime Branch books student, examination staff for fraud

The Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) has registered a case against the student and the examination staff for fraudulently managing two answer script of same serial number in the examination centre number 8132 designated at Government Boys Higher Secondary School (HSS) Batmaloo.

The fraud took place during the conduct of Class 10thbi-annual examination last year.

   

“A preliminary investigation was initiated after receiving acommunication from Joint Secretary (Administration) in J&K BOSE KashmirDivision,” the CB spokesman said.

He said that on March 13 last year examination staff ofCentre No 8132 distributed three series of mathematics papers -17503-A, 17503-Band 17503-C among the candidates who were appearing in bi-annual examination.

“While answer scripts were distributed to the students, onecandidate namely Hashim Bin Shafi, Roll No. 8132496 went out of examinationhall on the pretext of going to washroom. When he returned to examination hallthe concerned staff found him in possession of two answer scripts having sameserial number of 107676,” the spokesman said.

“The student had managed one more answer script having sameserial number and solved C-Series of question paper while he was given A-Seriesquestion paper”.

As per the investigations, the hand writing on both theanswer sheets does not match with each other. “The student had attemptedquestions himself on one answer script provided by the staff while thequestions on the other answer script with same serial number fraudulentlymanaged by the student from outside were attempted in a different handwriting,” the spokesman said.

He said the case has been taken up for investigations.
