A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper wounded during the gunfight in Aripal area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district earlier this month succumbed on Monday, officials said.
Constable Mahesh Kumar Meena (30) had sustained a bullet injury in his neck during a gunfight in Aripal on January 5.
“He was shifted to Army’s 92 Base Hospital Srinagar where from he was shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi,” said an official, adding that the trooper succumbed at AIIMS today.
