CSTC trains over 100 boys, girls

Chinar Skill Training Centre (CSTC) at Haiderbeg, in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has been at the forefront in providing skill development training to the youth of the Valley under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yojana (PMKVY), an Army spokesman said in a statement.

 He said, “Over 100 local boys and girls have directly benefitted from it and are employed full time across the Valley and more will gain employment in due course.”

   

The spokesman said that a certification course on Screen Acting, in collaboration with Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune under their SKIFT (Skilling India in Film & Television) scheme was started on 26th September, 2018 during which Phunsuk Ladhaki and his team of artists imparted the nuances of acting to the students Kashmir at Zorawar auditorium, Haiderbeg. ” On successful completion of the course, the closing ceremony was held on Wednesday. The ceremony was graced by the parents of these students along with dignitaries from the Army and civil administration.”

He said Chinar Corps Commander, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, was the chief guest for the occasion and felicitated the students. 

Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen AK Bhatt highlighted the Army’s emphasis in not only providing skill development training but also ultimately resulting in better employability for the youth of Kashmir. He also expressed his gratitude to FTII for their support and Phunsukh Ladhaki for his dedication and zeal towards the youth.
