Srinagar, Nov 21: A girl student from Poonch district studying at the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) died while another has been hospitalized after alleged suffocation at their rented room in Saloora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the two girl identified as Shabnaz and Ziyaan both from Poonch were found unconscious in their rented room in a residential house.
Both were shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal where Shabnaz was declared dead by the doctors while as Ziyaan was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar, an official said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Gulzar Ahmad confirmed the incident to KNO and said that the condition of the second girl is stable.
Officials said that the incident is likely to have happened because of suffocation; however, further investigation in this regard has been taken up.
