CUK’s Zoology deptt observes Wildlife day

The department of Animal Sciences (Zoology), Central University of Kashmir (CUK) observed the World Wildlife Day here on Wednesday.

Holding placards and banners, the students raised awareness among the masses by spreading the messages about wildlife protection, especially the endangered species in Kashmir, the varsity said in a statement.

   

The students also climbed the mountain peak of Sindh forest division Ganderbal and witnessed diverse flora and fauna. The group also interacted with the local community and talked about the presence of the wildlife species. The students also visited a plant nursery where saplings were distributed among them.

Earlier, the Dean School of life Sciences, Prof. Mohammad Yousuf, briefed the students about the importance of exploring the local wildlife. The event was coordinated by Dr. Lateef Khaliq, Sr Assistant professor along with, Mr. Irfan Noorani, Asst Prof, Department of Zoology, Dr. Saleem Mushtaq and Mr. Parvaiz Yousuf.
