DC Kupwara reviews measures in red zones

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara Anshul Garg Tuesday convened a meeting to review preventive measures in place in the red zone areas.

The meeting was informed that strict restrictions have beenimposed on vehicular and people’s movement in Drugmulla, Manigah and Trehgam,which have been declared red zone areas after detection of some coronaviruscases.

   

The meeting was informed that 15,000 masks have beendistributed among people of these areas to contain the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, the DC directed Tehsildars to seal all entry andexit points of the red zones. He directed the Chief Agriculture Officer toarrange required machinery for fumigation of these areas.

The Assistant Director, Food and Civil Supplies informed themeeting that the ration supply for the month of April stands distributed acrossthe district and demand for additional essential commodities have been taken upfor supply.

The DC directed the officers to home deliver ration supplyin red zone areas twice a week and LPG once a week to avoid public gathering.

To ensure availability of medical screening, the DC directedthe CMO to frame Mobile Medical Teams consisting of a Pharmacist and a healthworker for screening of the patients. He also directed the officers todistribute safety kits including jackets and masks among the staff deputed forfumigation in these areas.

Meanwhile SDM, Karnah, Bilal Mohiddin took stock ofpreventive measures regarding COVID19 in the area. He informed that oldhospital building Tangar has been designated quarantine facility centre withcapacity of 20 beds.
