DGP Dilbag Singh launches website of Kashmir zone police

He wasflanked by IGP Kashmir S P Pani while launching the website which can beaccessed via www.kashmirpolice.jk.gov.in

The websiteis an initiative by J&K Police to provide updates to the citizens aboutvarious policing related activities by incorporating advanced level oftechnology for better & effective communication, said a spokesman.

   

The websitebriefly explains the history of Kashmir Police and contains photographs havinghistorical significance, he said.

The websitewill be regularly updating information about daily policing activities whichincludes Police Community Partnership Group meetings, Youth engagementprogrammes and successful investigation of cases.

Moreover, itwill also provide information about the road traffic accidents & accidentprone spots and successes achieved by police in NDPS cases. The list ofabsconders and persons reported missing from Kashmir valley has also beenprovided in the website.

The websitealso hosts basic information about FIR, procedure for registration of FIR andstatistics pertaining to the prosecution of criminal cases.

There isalso a library section which carries information about various laws implementedby police during the course of their duties. Moreover, the citizens can filetheir grievances through this portal and the progress on redressal of theirgrievances will be communicated to the citizens, added the spokesman.

A separatecolumn highlighting the role and achievements of Police Drug De-addictionCenter has also been included in the website.

Pertinently,DDC PCR Kashmir has been successful in administrating de-addiction treatment toseveral substance abusers on continuous basis. Information about CCTNS is alsoavailable on the website.

The websitecontains all the important contact details of police officers and otherimportant police establishments besides statistics related to several crimeswill also be updated on the website.

DirectorGeneral of Police, while inaugurating the website said that website has beenlaunched in the public interest to augment the efforts made by police for quickdissemination and sharing of work done by police.

The DGPdedicated the website to public and said that the website will updateinformation on daily basis for the benefit of society which will help instrengthening bonds with public.

IGP Kashmirsaid that the website will prove helpful for public to obtain insight onvarious policing related activities and has features which will allow for easyaccess of information by the common citizens. Adding further, IGP said thatthis is an effort to reach out to the community members/citizens.
