DGP visits Sopore, Bandipora, reviews poll arrangements

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Wednesday visited north Kashmir districts, slated for Lok Sabha polls in the first phase on April 11.

 The DGP Singh saidvisited Sopore and Bandipora to review police arrangements for the upcomingelections. He took stock of the deployment of police and CPMFs in the areas ofthese districts. 

   

Addressing the officers and policemen at District PoliceLines Sopore and Bandipora, the DGP Singh said that conduct of peacefulelections in the state is yet another challenging task for J&K Police andthe force is fully prepared to maintain law and order during the elections.

He said that various components under the command ofofficers have been formed for maintaining law and order during the elections.

The DGP interacted with the members of these components andemphasised upon the personnel to exhibit high standards of discipline in thefield and work with dedication under the control of their respectivecommanders.

He advised that coordination among the components andimplementation of orders from team leaders is mandatory for the personnel inthe field to get desired results. J&K Police has been working for the protectionof people and every care should be taken for the security of the public, theDGP added during his interaction with the officers and the personnel.

During his visit, the DGP was accompanied by ADGP ArmedJ&K SJM Gillani, IGP Kashmir S P Pani and DIG NKR Baramulla M SulemanChoudhary.

The senior officers also interacted with the policepersonnel. SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik and SSP Sopore Javaid Mir briefed the DGPand other officers.  Commandants ofIRP/armed battalions and other police officers were present on the occasions.
