Sumo drivers operating here have suspended service on Kupwara-Manigah road from past 10 day to protest failure of authorities to repair the dilapidated road stretch.
Reports said that residents of Glassdaji, Birmbal, Kashmiri Manigah and other adjoining areas were suffering badly due to strike of sumo drivers in the area.
Sumo drivers plying on Manigah route said that the road to Manigah area is dilapidated. "Road is in shabby condition from Manzhar to Glassdaji and non-motorable. Our vehicles have been damaged by potholes," they said.
Meanwhile, in wake of strike of sumo drivers, district administration has swung into action and started service of SRTC buses up to Glassdaji.
