Div Com visits Bandipora, takes stock of Covid-19 measures

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Friday visited this district to review measures being taken by the administration for prevention and control of Covid-19.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora,Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, Superintendent of Police, Rahul Malik, OSD, coronaviruscontrol, Owais Ahmad and officers from Divisional Commissioner’s office besidesother officials of Health and Medical Education Departments.

   

At Hajin, which witnessed four positive cases recently, theDivisional Commissioner reviewed arrangements put in place by theadministration including quarantine facility centres.

He emphasized on adopting preventive measures besidessynergizing efforts for identifying all persons having travel history to thecoronavirus affected regions and also those who were in contact with thepatients who tested positive.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner visited variousquarantine facility centers for suspected Covid-19 patients.

He inspected round the clock facilities available at thesecenters including adequate staff, equipments, ambulances, bedding, propersanitation and other facilities.

On the occasion, he interacted with staff and enquired aboutwellbeing of the quarantined persons. He interacted with the doctors deployedat these centres and enquired about the present status of quarantine andscreening of the patients.

He asked the officials to work with dedication and ensurethat all facilities were made available to the people being quarantined atthese centers and directed them to take all precautionary measures to containthe infection.

He said with the active cooperation of the districtadministration, it would be ensured that evolving situation raised due tospread of Covid-19 was tackled effectively.

He also visited the control room established by the districtadministration at the CMO Office and inspected its functioning. He appreciatedthe staff and urged them to maintain proper record of every call received andthe action taken report on each and every query.

On the occasion the Deputy Commissioner informed thevisiting officers regarding the preventive measures and steps taken by theadministration to prevent spread of the coronavirus.

He said 290 travelers and foreign returned citizens havebeen put under surveillance of which 161 were under home quarantine while 129under administrative quarantine.

He said 19 quarantine centres have been established in thedistrict with a capacity of 730 beds.

The Divisional Commissioner said health officials mustmaintain a constant watch on cases and immediate reporting and shifting ofthose who might develop Covid-19 symptoms was very important.

The Divisional Commissioner stressed on dealing with thesituation as per the recommended guidelines and operating procedures and saideveryone has to play their role in combating the deadly disease.

He urged people to cooperate with the administration and bewell-informed about all precautions that need to be followed to prevent spreadof the infection.
