On the call of joint resistance leadership, a protest against issuing of domicile certificates to West Pakistan Refugees (WPR) was staged at Abi Guzar here on Monday.
Leaders and activists of resistance camp raised pro-freedom slogans and staged a sit-in.
"The issuance of domicile certificates to West Pakistan refugees, allowing banks outside the Jammu and Kashmir to confiscate and hold properties and orders regarding the sovereignty of the state is an issue of life and death for our national life and no Kashmiri can afford to sit silent on these issues," the protestors said.
"So-called rulers have incarcerated thousands of young and old in the name of democracy which is highly condemnable," they said.
The protesters said termed the domicile certificates and SC verdict as "conspiracies to change demography of Jammu Kashmir."
"This ploy to turn the Muslim majority status into a minority is a ploy to strengthen the forcible control of New Delhi," they said.
The protesters also expressed solidarity with prisoners.
"Health condition of the prisoners languishing is different jails across the state is deteriorating as the authorities have failed to provide them adequate facilities. We demand that all the prisoners languishing in different jails must be released forthwith," they said.
"Government must stop issuing the domicile certificates to WPRs as the move according to them is an attempt to change the demography of the state. We have been fight against such kind of moves and will continue to fight in future. We won't let the government to take decision against the aspirations of the people," the protesters added.
"Government has unleashed terror in Kashmir by killing, maiming and blinding civilians. We appeal International community and rights bodies to take note on Human Rights violation in Kashmir and pressurize India to stop atrocities in Kashmir," they added.
