Sopore, May 7: Sopore police on Tuesday said that they have booked drug peddlers under PIT-NDPS Act.
Police in a statement said that after receiving a formal detention order from the competent authority the drug peddlers were booked under PIT-NDPS act and were identified as Aadil Ashraf Khan of Pethseer Sopore, Aaqib Nissar Gojree of Batpora A/P Model Town Sopore, and Bashir Ahmad Dar of Bunpora Dangerpora Sopore. They have been taken into custody and are now being held in the Central Jail Kot-Balwal, Jammu.
Police statement further said that, it is important to note that many cases have been registered against these drug Smugglers and they were still involved in drug abuse by supplying contraband substances to the local youth of the Police District Sopore and other areas of the district.
“The general public of Sopore appreciated the role played by the Sopore Police in taking tough action against drug Smugglers. Sopore Police is committed to take strict actions against such criminals as per the law,” police said.
