The Election Commission has attached a government employee and two bank employees for participating in a political rally of Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town on Wednesday.
In the showcause notice served to the employees the electionbody has pointed out that the trio has violated the model code of conduct (MCC)and employee conduct rules.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, who is nodalofficer for MCC in the district, has asked them to submit their reply within 48hours.
He has also directed the Assistant Commissioner RevenuePulwama to conduct an inquiry and submit a report into the matter.
It is in place to mention here that since imposition of MCCin Jammu and Kashmir more than 60 employees have been suspended for canvassingfor political parties.
