Erratic power supply in Chrar, Chadoora, residents suffer

The residents of Charar I sharief and Chadoora townships of Budgam district on Saturday complained of erratic power supply in their areas in the month of Ramadhan.

Locals said PDD could not provide uninterrupted power supply to Charar and Chadoora townships even in the holy month of Ramadan. “It is unfortunate that even in this holy month there are unscheduled power cuts at Sehri and Iftar time,” said Amir Din, the head priest of Charar Khanqah. “Despite repeated visits to higher officials nothing has been done so far. When we raise the issue before the PDD officials, they said that work on Chadoora line is under process but how long are we going to suffer,” said Jan Mohammad, president Alamdar Traders union Charar I sharief. “The town receives thousands of devotees on daily basis. Our streets are reeling in dark on evenings and Sehri time.”

The local residents said uninterrupted electricity should be restored at the earliest for the consumers especially in this month. PDD division Budgam and concerned MLA couldn’t be contacted despite repeated calls.
