Senior National Conference leader Nazir Ahmad Gurezi on Thursday asked the J&K administration to ensure evacuation of people of Gurez from north Kashmir stranded in different parts of country.
In a statement, Gurezi said scores of laborers from Gurezwere stranded in Himachal Pardesh. “These people are struck there for weeks andwithout money and food. They have nowhere to go. I appeal to the administrationto make arrangements for their return. Since most of them are in lowerdistricts like Kangra, arranging their evacuation is not a major exercise,”Gurezi said.
He asked the administration to make ensure availability ofrations for distribution among local populace at Gurez.
“I request the administration to make early arrangements forreturn of people who had travelled to different areas of Kashmir. Thegovernment should also ensure availability of other essentials medicines inGurez,” he said.
