Ex-CM’s Letter Pad Forgery | CB produces challan against accused

The Crime Branch, Kashmir Monday produced a challan against the persons accused of forging the letter pad of the then Chief Minister for regularization of daily wage workers of Rural Development Department J&K.

A statement of Crime Branch, Kashmir issued here said that the challan was registered in the case in FIR No 32/2014 under sections 420, 468, 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code against the accused Ghulam Muhammad Wani of Anzwala Anantnag, the then president of the Daily Wagers Union Jammu and Kashmir before the Court of Forest Magistrate Srinagar.

   

The statement said consequent upon a complaint received from Chief Minister’s Secretariat of the erstwhile state of J&K, regarding the use of fake and forged letter pad of the then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for regularisation of the daily wage workers of Rural Development Department, J&K, it was found that Wani had forged the signatures of the then chief minister.

It said that Wani had also forged the signatures of the then Director Rural Development Department Kashmir and Jammu whereby he had prepared and forwarded the list of daily wage workers to senior formations for their regularisation, who otherwise were not existing on the rolls of the department.
