Provincial president of women wing of National Conference Satwant Kaur Dogra today condemned a rally led by a BJP leader in support of SPO accused in rape and murder of eight-year old girl in Kathua.
Expressing shock and surprise over the "uncalled for" rally, Satwant said that "a rapist has no race, caste or religion and BJP should refrain from giving religious color to this horrific crime. It is the first time in my life that I have seen a pro-rapist rally, this is really disturbing and a dangerous trend.
"It is the collective responsibility of the society to identify the frenzy elements hiding behind religion and trying to destroy the social fabric which could lead to the serious ramifications for the society at large and these elements should not be allowed to unleash their communal agenda under the garb of ultra nationalism," she said.
Satwant said that government should expedite the investigations set in motion by the SIT to take it to the logical conclusion.
