Farming operations only after safety precautions: Advisor Baseer Khan

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today said that government is taking various measure for the resumption of agriculture and horticulture related activities restricted as part of the nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The Advisor said that measures are being taking to ensuretimely spray of required pesticides and fertilizer distribution besidesresumption of other farming activities so that rural, agriculture andhorticulture economy will not suffer during the lockdown.

The Advisor directed the concerned to submit list ofdistributers and dealers dealing with fertilizers and pesticides to theconcerned Deputy Commissioner's office so that their movement passes will beissued besides supervising and ensuring farming activities are taking placeunder the norms to prevent speared of Covid-19.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir asked the DirectorHorticulture to generate awareness among the farming community aboutprecautions and preventions and the need to avoid the spread of COVID-19 amongfarming community.

The Director Industries & Commerce were directed to draw a complete movement plan of industrial activities and submit the same to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir's office so that health and safety of unit holders and inhouse labourers is assured.
