Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) president Dr Nisar ul Hassan congratulated Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo on becoming head of the prestigious journalist body.
"Fayaz sahib deserved the honor for his immense contribution in the field of journalism. It was because of his hard work, dedication and courage that he created an institution which has become voice of the voiceless. He worked against all odds to keep world informed about Kashmir. He was an inspiration to over a dozen of English dailies that have started publication in the valley," President Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar ul Hassan said in a statement.
"Last year, it was a moment of great pride to all of us when he was nominated to the Executive Committee of Editors Guild of India.
We are hopeful that with new role, he along with his office bearers will carry forward the profession of journalism with same enthusiasm," he said.
"Media has played a vital role in strengthening and shaping the society. It is the responsibility of new body to promote highest ethical standards in journalism which is about finding and reporting truth.
People do not know about the truth and they believe what is written on newspapers is truth. It is obligatory on the Guild to safeguard public institutions by making public servants accountable. In order to have an impact of the perception generated by media it is essential to build trust among readers. We believe that the newly elected body will continue to potray the plight and problems of people that will strengthen the bond between media and readers which is so essential for the trust," said Dr Nisar added.
INFLUENTIAL CONTRIBUTOR IN FOURTH ESTATE OF STATE POLITY: NC
National Conference has also felicitated Greater Kashmir Editor-in-Chief. "Fayaz Kaloo's contribution in institutionalizing local journalism in the State was exemplary and would set the tone for growth and qualitative evolution in journalism for decades to come," NC State Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu said congratulating Fayaz Kaloo on behalf of the party.
"I am sure that under his presidency of the Editors' Guild, journalism in the State would be strengthened further to uphold the ever-sacred values of objectivity, courage and fairness – values that the journalistic fraternity in the State has always enshrined in its work," he said.

REMARKABLE DEVELOPMENT IN JOURNALISM IN KASHMIR: IEEMA
The Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA) congratulated , Greater Kashmir Editor-in-Chief. "It is a remarkable development in the field of journalism in Kashmir," said Sunil Misra, IEEMA's Director General.
"Under the able leadership of Fayaz Kaloo, Greater Kashmir has played a significant role in the development of power sector and electrical equipment industries in Jammu and Kashmir beside other contributions," he said.
Misra said IEEMA and its members are hopeful that Fayaz Kaloo and his colleagues will continue their important works.

According to Dr Mir Mushtaq, spokesperson quoting Mir said appreciated the contribution of Fayaz Kaloo in highlighting the various issues related to doctors and hospitals through professional journalism.
"We hope that, he along with other members of the group with this new responsibility would work in a positive way and carry forward the ethics of journalism," Mir added.

Chairman Kashmir Society Khawaja Farooq Renzushah has also congratulated Fayaz Kaloo.
