Two textile factories were gutted in a fire in Ganderbal on Friday evening.

Reports said that fire erupted in 'New Mushtaq Textiles' owned by Mushtaq Ahmed Malik of Serch Ganderbal at industrial estate Ganderbal and engulfed the adjoining structures including another textile factory 'JK Wool Textiles'

The two factories suffered massive damage and lost raw material.

Fire tenders and police rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

SHO police station Ganderbal Ashish Kohli told Greater Kashmir that two structures housing two textile factories suffered damage.

He said that the cause of the fire is believed to be electric short circuit.
