Fire damages 3 houses in Karnah, 2 in Sumbal

Three residential houses were damaged in an overnight fire incident at a Kandi village in Karnah, district Kupwara, police said.

Short circuit is believed to have caused the devastating fire that razed the houses to the ground, an official said.

The affected families include Raja Abdul Majid Khan, and his sons – Raja Amjad Khan and Raja Asif Khan.

The locals alleged that the fire tender could not reach the spot immediately that resulted into more damage.

Meanwhile, two residential houses were gutted in a mysterious fire incident in Tengpora village of Sumbal tehsil in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.

Sources said the houses which were damaged in the fire belonged to two brothers Ghulam Nabi Wani and Mohammad Abdullah Wani.

They said that property worth lakhs of rupees was lost in the fire.
