Fire guts five residential houses in north Kashmir’s Sopore

Five residential houses were gutted in a fire incident inChankhan area of Sopore in north Kashmir's district Baramulla, official said onWednesday.

An official said that firefirst broke out at the residential house of Khazir Muhammad Malla early todayand then spread to other four houses in the vicinity

He said the other houses gutted in the fire incident belonged toBashir Ahmad Malla, Abdul Rashid Malla, late Muhammad Maqbool Malla and GhulamNabi Malla.

The official said that the firetenders with help of locals doused the fire and prevented it from spreading toother houses. The cause of the fire, he said, is believed to be short circuit.

Reports said that propertyworth lacs of rupees was completely destroyed in the fire incident.
