Forces cordon Pulwama, Shopian villages

Government forces on Tuesday launched a cordon and search operation in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police official said that army personnel, SOG and CRPF men launched the operation in Bhatnoor village. “The operation was launched after forces received inputs about the presence of militants in the area,” the official said.

Earlier in the day, forces launched a search operation in Narwaw village of neighbouring Shopian district. The operations in both the villages were called off as no militant was found in the area.
