Government forces on late Saturday night launched cordon and search operation in Hardshiva village here.
An official said that joint team of Army’s 22 RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police and 179 Batallion of CRPF launched the operation in the outskirts of Sopore.
“The operation was launched following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, ” he said.
Superintendent of Police Sopore, Javid Iqbal confirmed that CASO was launched at Hardshiva village “but no contact was established with the militants as yet.”
