Forces launch search operation in Shopian village

Clashes erupted in south Kashmir’s Homuna Nagbal village of Shopian on Sunday after government forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in the area.

Sources told Greater Kashmir that Army’s 44 RR, 14 batallion CRPF and special operation group of Police cordoned off Homuna Nagbal village at around 3:00 pm  and carried out house to house searches. 

   

Sources said that some youth pelted stones on forces which were by quickly send away by alert forces and no causality was reported. 

Police officials informed that the area was cordoned off after they received inputs about presence of militants in the area and, however, no contact was established and the cardon ended peacefully at 7:00 pm.
