The government forces on Saturday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Dochnipora area of Bijbehara in southern Kashmir.
A source said that the army’s 3 RR, Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF cordoned off Mahand village in Srigufwara around 6 PM.
He said the CASO was launched following a tip-off about the presence of militants in the area.
Locals said that the village located in Dochnipora belt along the Bijbehara-Pahalgam apple valley route has been sealed and lights have been installed.
Searches were going on in the area when last reports came.
